750 East New Circle Road - Eastland Lanes

Eastland Lanes, a Lexington staple since 1966, will be closing the doors of its New Circle Road location for the final time on June 1, 2017. Danny Collins, president of Collins Bowling Centers, released a statement last Sunday citing increased operating and maintenance costs as the reason behind the closure. Southland Lanes, Lexington's final bowling alley and another Collins Bowling Centers venue, will remain open.

882 East High Street - Prissy Peach

Prissy Peach, a Winchester-based clothing boutique, will open its second location at 882 E. High St., the former Morris Book Shop storefront, on March 24. Occupying one of Lexington's most iconic retail spaces, Prissy Peach's new location will feature womenswear staples, along with a small curated selection of urban menswear.

Thistle Station

Thistle Station, the high-rise apartment/retail development proposed for Newtown Pike between Third and Fourth Streets is now officially dead. The Urban County Planning Commission previously approved a change in zoning for the proposed mixed-use residential and retail infill development.

951 Freight Boulevard - FedEx Freight

FedEx Freight is expanding its presence in Lexington, with construction underway at 951 Freight Blvd. The planned facility, located off Newtown Pike, offers direct access to major highways and is being built in conjunction with Setzer Properties. FedEx declined to reveal the size or cost of the project.

101 West Short St - Corto Lima

Jonathan Lundy, previously of Coba Cocina and Jonathan at Gratz Park, is bringing a fresh take on Latin cuisine to one of Lexington's highest profile locations. Corto Lima, opening today at 101 W. Short St., will offer diners an innovative and affordable Latin-inspired menu paired with Spanish and South American wines.
