David O’Neill

David O’Neill has proudly served as the Fayette County Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) since February 11, 2009, when he was appointed by Governor Steve Beshear. Following his appointment, David was overwhelmingly elected in 2010 and subsequently re-elected unopposed in 2014 and 2018, demonstrating his strong dedication and trusted leadership within the Fayette County community.
Prior to becoming PVA, David spent his career in the Thoroughbred horse racing industry, notably managing essential data for The Jockey Club and Equibase Company—horse racing’s official information database. This background has equipped him with extensive expertise in data management, valuation accuracy, and industry-specific knowledge essential for his role as Property Valuation Administrator.
Beyond his official duties, David actively contributes to Fayette County by serving on several key local committees and commissions, including:
- LFUCG Vacant Property Review Commission
- Affordable Housing Committee
David is deeply engaged in critical local issues, including sustainable community growth, economic development, housing affordability, and addressing the impacts of gentrification. His active participation underscores his commitment to improving the quality of life and economic health in Fayette County.
